Nilagang Baka (Beef Soup)

I am a single mother at 43 years old, unemployed now, but blessed with three children. Food budget depends on the small payslips of my children. However at least i try to cook for them variety of dishes. Sunday is our special family day. This coming Sunday I will prepare Nilagang Baka (Beef Soup).

Nilagang Baka Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kl. Beef meat slice 2 inches long.
  • 3 cups raw Langka slice.
  • 6 pcs. Batwan
  • 1 cup Caduce
  • 3 pcs. Long Chili (siling mahaba)
  • 4 heads Garlic pound
  • 2 medium size onions slice
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • Salt Ajinomoto Mono sodium glutamate (optional)
  • 1 Knorr Beef stock cube
  • Magic Sarap all in one seasoning granules.

Nilagang Baboy (Pork Soup)

Nilagang Baboy Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 Pork front leg slice 1 inch
  • 3 cups raw Langka (Jack fruit) slice 1/2 inch
  • 8 pcs. Batwan
  • 3 pcs. Long Chili (siling mahaba)
  • 2 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 4 heads GArlic pound
  • 2 medium size Onions slice
  • Salt
  • Ajinomoto mono sodium glutimate (optional)
  • 1 pc. Knorr Pork stock cube
  • Magic Sarap all in one seasoning granules.

Sweet And Sour Fish

One of my favourite dish is sweet and sour fish. Whenever I have visitors dining at our house, they look for this savoury dish. You should try serving this dish. So let’s cook..

Sweet And Sour Fish Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 1 big whole Lapu-lapu (grouper) weighs about 4 kls. Pre deep fired set aside. You can also use any kinds of fish like Tilapya.
  • 4 heads Garlic pounded and finely chopped.
  • 2 medium size Onions finely chopped.
  • 1 medium size Carrot cut to strips.
  • 1 medium size Chayote (Merliton) cut to strips.
  • 1 big Bell pepper cut to strips.
  • 1 small can Pineapple slice. Per slice divided into 4. Set aside syrup.
  • 2 tbsp. readymade chopped Pickles (Gherkin Pickles) set aside syrup.
  • 1 cup Cane Vinegar
  • 4 tbsp. Tomato Sauce
  • ½ tspn. whole Peppercorn.
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups 7-up/sprite soft-drinks.
  • ¼ cup cornstarch dissolve in water. Set aside.
  • 2 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1 cube Knorr shrimp stock cube
  • Ajinomoto mono sodium glutamate (optional)
  • Magic Sarap all in one seasoning granules.

Out of all the chicken soups. Fresh stripped native chicken is the best to use. It has a defferent aroma and delicious flavor not only for its meat but also the broth. It’s one of Pinoy’s popular meal dish. This meal is most often served to patients and to lactating mother’s. It kinds of give a soothing effect. So let’s cook… may way.. the easy quick way..

Tinolang Manok  Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kl. Manok (Native Chicken) chopped as desired.
  • 1 pc. medium size raw papaya peel/slice 1/1 inch thick – 1 inches long.
  • 1 pc. Tanglad (lemongrass) tightened up / slightly pound the stem.
  • 2 cups Chili Leaves (dahon sili).
  • 4 heads garlic pound.
  • 2 pcs. medium size onion sliced.
  • 2 pcs. medium size ripe tomatoes sliced.
  • 3 pcs. Long Chili (siling mahaba)
  • 2 tbsp. cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Ajinomoto mono sodium glutamate (optional)
  • Magic Sarap all in one seasoning granules.

Beef Pochero

Sometimes, us loungly mother’s are bothered of what menu to cook for the day. At times we do not know what serve. But when we know basic cooking, we just tend to create and cook what we think of. Is that cooking instincts or what? For pork lovers… here is a simple dish… so let’s cook…

Beef Pochero Recipe
Ingredients:

  • ½ kl. Pork Ribs slice.
  • 3 medium size potatoes cut into half dip in water set aside.
  • 8 pcs. Baguio beans slice 2 inch long.
  • 2 pcs. medium size carrots. Slice into circles.
  • 1 medium size cabbage. Slice into ¼ pcs.
  • 2 tbs. cooking oil.
  • 4 heads garlic pound.
  • 2 pcs. medium size onions slice.
  • 2 pcs. medium size tomatoes slice.
  • 3 pcs. Long Chili (Sili Mahaba).
  • 1 Knorr Pork stock cube.
  • Ajinomoto mono sodium glutamate (optional).

Pinakbet And Pinakbet With Gata (Coconut Milk)

Proud to be Pinoy! Filipino’s are well known at four corners of the world. Not only for our warm hospitable and friendly manner but also in our intellectual talents, entertainment, sport and dedication in work. Amazingly we have Pinoy chef’s working at the world’s finest restaurants. I’d be not surprised that Filipino dishes would be known worldwide. A friend of mine who has resided in another country really misses her hometown food. So I’m pleased to share with you some Filipino dishes recipes cooked my way… the easy way… yet delicious!!
Pinakbet” – a very popular Pinoy dish, not only delicious but nutritious.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kl. Pork diced
  • 2 tbsp. Bagoong Alamang
  • 4 heads Garlic pound
  • 2 pcs. Medium size onions sliced
  • 3 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • Salt
  • Ajinomoto Mono-sodium Glutamate (optional)
  • 1 pcs. Knorr Pork stack cube.
  • Magic Sarap all in one seasoning granules.
  • 1 pcs. Ampalaya (Bitter Melon) Slice 1 inch diagonally
  • 2 pcs. Medium size Talong (Eggplant) Slice 1 inch diagonally
  • 8 pcs. Okra. Slice 1 inch diagonally
  • 2 cups Squash  diced 1 inch
  • 8 pcs. Sitaw (String Beans) Cut 2 inches long.
